Sanyo has just unveiled the Sanyo PLC-XF46N, a Tabletop XGA LCD projector which promises cutting edge performance and functionality. The projector is unique because it features not one but three 1.8 inch, 1024 by 768 pixel LCD screens which are capable of a brilliant bright display and produce up to 12,000 lumens .It also promises to be cost efficient as each screen consumes about 300 watts of power. It is capable of producing 6000 lumens in the two-lamp mode and 24,000 lumens when two are aligned together. The three LCDs are capable of the finest image quality and provides up to 1200 to 1 contrast ratio and a realistic color and grey scale palette. It features the Dynamic Auto Gamma Processing technology where the circuits adjust gamma settings and offset according to the needs of the projected image. The image then is further enhanced thanks to Sanyo’s patented Vertical and Horizontal Edge Enhancement technologies. The projector is also unique as it features the novel and reliable 1.8 inches diagonal "Biena 4" LCDs ,eliminating the need of mircolenses which at times results in light damage and hot spots.The LCDs feature an Optical Block design and an "optical compensator" plate between the first polarizer and the LCD panel. This results in automatic correction in the polarized light for better contrast, brightness and reliability.
